Susan Richman, M.D., MPH, FACOG
A native New Yorker, Dr. Richman earned her medical degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine and completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Yale New Haven Hospital. In addition to her private practice experience, she has volunteered with the Indian health Service in New Mexico and participated in medical mission work in Ecuador. She later earned a Master of Publish Health from Yale University while leading the newly established Family Planning Division at Yale School of Medicine.
Dr. Richman has received numerous accolades throughout her career, including being named one of the Best Doctors in the Greater New York Metropolitan Area in 2006 and a national Best Doctor in 2018. She has held several leadership roles, including Chair of the Connecticut section of ACOG and membership on both the state's Maternal Mortality Review Committee and the current Connecticut State Infant Mortality Review Committee.
Her clinical focus is gynecology, with special interests in chronic pain disorders, sexuality, menopause, and contraception. She has published extensively on these topics in peer reviewed journals. Dr. Richman is also passionate about teaching and regularly mentors' residents, medical students, nursing students, and PA students - both in practice and through volunteer work.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Richman enjoys an active lifestyle that includes sailing, kayaking, cycling, and hiking.
