Scott Casper, M.D., MHS, FACOG

Dr. Casper attended the University of Connecticut in 1975 and earned his Doctorate from the University of Kentucky in 1983. He completed his residency at Yale-New Haven Hospital in 1987 and has been with County Ob/Gyn since then. In 2020 Dr. Casper completed his Masters of Health Science in Medical Education at Yale School of Medicine and is now Clinical Professor of Ob/Gyn at Yale School of Medicine. As an avid teacher at the Yale School of Medicine, Dr. Casper teaches “obstetrical simulation” for the Yale medical students, PA students and Emergency Department Residents with a life sized doll that simulates giving birth. He has traveled the country teaching this method to other medical schools and also worked with EMTs and emergency departments in Connecticut in managing post-partum hemorrhage. Dr. Casper was awarded the 2024 Alvan R. Feinstein Award from Yale School of Medicine for his outstanding teaching of clinical skills to next generation of physicians.

Dr. Casper is certified with the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and is re-certified annually; he is also a fellow at the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. In 2023 he published on post-partum hemorrhage in the International Journal of Gynecology and Obstetrics.

Dr. Casper is an attending at Yale-New Haven Hospital. He is a member of the Connecticut State Medical Society, New Haven Obstetrical Society, and also volunteers on the Board of the New Haven Legal Aides Society in his spare time. 

Dr. Casper is serious about fitness and utilizes most of his free time exercising. He trained and completed an Iron Man competition in 2013 that involved biking, swimming, and running. Dr. Casper and his wife enjoy spending time with their children and grandchildren.
