Scott Casper, M.D., MHS, FACOG
Dr. Casper attended the University of Connecticut in 1975 and earned his Doctorate from the University of Kentucky in 1983. He completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Yale New Haven Hospital in 1987 and has been a dedicated member of County Ob/Gyn ever since.
In 2020, Dr. Casper earned a Master of Health Science in Medical Education from Yale School of Medicine and currently serves as a Clinical Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology there. A passionate educator, he leads obstetrical simulation training for Yale medical students, physician assistant students, and Emergency Department residents, using a life-sized birthing simulator. He has taught this method at medical schools across the country and has also worked with EMTs and emergency departments throughout Connecticut on managing postpartum hemorrhage. In recognition of his outstanding commitment to clinical education, Dr. Casper received the prestigious Alvan R. Feinstein Award in 2024 from Yale School of Medicine.
Board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and re-certified annually. Dr. Casper is also a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. In 2023, he published research on postpartum hemorrhage in the International Journal of Gynecology and Obstetrics.
Dr. Casper is serious about fitness and utilizes most of his free time exercising. He trained and completed an Ironman competition in 2013, which included swimming, biking, and running. Dr. Casper and his wife enjoy spending time with their children and grandchildren.
